Samuel Hon is an executive leader and coach with over 15 years of experience leading culture change, strategic planning and marketing management, and driving market share and revenue growth through culture transformation.
Presently, Samuel is President of First Corporate Solutions (FCS), a 30-year-old technology, data and information services firm providing risk management solutions to legal and financial institutions with workflow automation, capital portfolio management and corporate compliance. He was appointed as President in 2016 to transform company culture and oversee the entire company across all functions including finance, technology, operations, marketing, sales and product management. Under his leadership, FCS has been unified by a new shared vision, guiding principles and corporate goals resulting in the achievement of the highest revenue and EBITA growth in the company’s history.
Previously, Samuel was the Chief Marketing Officer responsible for marketing operations, sales management and corporate development. Before that, he served as a key advisor to the CEO on business strategy and business management as the Vice President of Corporate Development and Marketing, launching two data and technology subsidiaries and overseeing the company’s rebranding and digital marketing initiatives. In addition to his role at FCS, he also founded HON Marketing and provided marketing and creative consultation to global Fortune 500 and SMB clients in finance, technology and healthcare sectors.
Samuel is a Stanford Certified Project Manager, Pragmatic Marketing Certified (PMC-III), Net Promoter Certified Associate and Berkeley Certified Executive Coach with training and executive coaching experience in Italy. He holds a BS in Journalism – Strategic Communication with honors and distinction from the University of Wisconsin- Madison, and he has completed Executive Education programs in Executive Leadership, Executive Coaching, Marketing Management, Financial Analysis and Project Management at Harvard Business School, Stanford University and UC Berkeley. In addition, he has helped facilitate leadership courses at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business Executive Education.
Samuel served two terms as President of the American Advertising Federation – Sacramento (AAF), and achieved a national award on achieving one of the highest ADDY growth chapters in the country. Apart from AAF, he served in several advisory roles at the Art Institute of California – Sacramento, the Crocker Art Museum and the University of Wisconsin-Madison – L&S Career Services. He also volunteered at Metro Edge and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Samuel has been honored with over a dozen marketing and design awards, and he was named Sacramento Business Journal “40 Under 40” honoree and the American Advertising Federation-Sacramento Ad Person of the Year.
As a Hong Kong native, Samuel regularly travels to Hong Kong and Asia while residing in California. He is a lifelong learner and he enjoys global travel.
